Haha, the light days of school,
Carrying heavy bags but heck, school's cool,
I miss those days already, after only a week of separation,
From my peers, they never fail to lift me away from depression,
And the pungent smell of decomposition is strong in the air,
As I stay at home, rotting and feeling as lonely as a pear,
Poor green pear, slowly devoured by worms on the inside.
Everyone in school, has people who love them,
How I wish I were one who was loved as well,
But all is good and all is swell,
So long we enjoy our time together,
Cause I will definitely miss the whole of this year,
And the year before this, and the year before that.
Time, they say is a companion for life,
But time itself is a foe and fights,
For its rightful but selfish rights,
So that we may have our lives filled with regrets,
But please no, lift this curse from us,
In exams and friendships, I hope we adjust,
So that time would be instead a forward thrust,
Instead of something we lay in dust.
And time will bring us back to school soon,
The pear in me feels better too.
