For a person like me,
To have to be,
A leader.
The greatest joke,
When I took on this yoke,
Yet not for laughing matter.
It is a gift,
Though by chance fell,
Into my hands,
All as ordained,
In His plan;
What irony,
It is, it is.
I've learned so much,
That I've much to learn,
I've grown so much,
Yet not enough,
I've learned to love,
Yet I've only touched the surface,
What irony;
Irony it is.
But there's nothing else,
I'd trade this for,
Though I struggle with self,
I learn much more,
You lead me through,
These ups and downs,
And though the sun sets,
With bitter gloom,
In my heart I feel,
A sweet sweet sweetness,
Of peace, of joy,
That all in all,
Though my face falls,
You are God.
I laugh at the air,
Because it's too great,
A realisation,
Of the greatness of You,
How You could have planned,
Things of all things,
For all the people,
No man unscanned.
Though each to his own,
With different calls,
In this life oh so short;
Some more glory,
While some choose naught,
Yet the end goal remains;
To be more like You,
To be less like me,
To stick to what's true,
And not be life's fool.
Everything short of,
A sweet serendipity;
Life's a lovely, wondrous irony.
