Seaside Talks.

Solemn,
Apparently,
I am, solemn.

When I speak, the atmosphere drowns,
True enough, my tone is deep around this bunch,
But hey, I'm all up for good fun,
Let me know, I'm a good pun-maker.

Spend a little time with me,
By the waters of the sea,
Sunset, sunrise, or evening breeze,
Pass me a cup of hot green tea,
Or maybe just a matcha latte,
I also like kopitiam-tasting coffee.

Spend an hour and then you'll know,
Nothing about me as I listen so;
Spend two hours and maybe you'll see,
I smile a lot more than I seem usually;
Add another hour, and perhaps you'll hear,
A little about my past to-learns;
Four hours straight and we'll run out of topic,
Somehow you will see, another side of me,
As we crack jokes by the oceanside,
Reminiscing over mellow tides,
We'll talk about thoughts for deep starry nights,
And cats and dogs and menial fights.

Don't fear me,
Get to know me,
I'm not all there is to see,
Underneath a creature of hidden things to discover;
Not really, no,
But only one way to know.

I am coming to each of you,
Each with only a small slice of time,
Eventually now I'll change my strategy,
Just so I can know more of your minds.
