Why is it so hard?

We've seen Your hand,

How do we still forget?

How do I still not see?

Change me now,

That I may not regret.

Part of life's bane,

Is to keep retrieving,

What you threw down the drain;

Let this pass from me soon,

I hate being words,

With nothing to prove,

So help me God,

I have found that I cannot,

You know my iniquities,

Lord, please hold it not against me,

For I sincerely want to be rid of them.

The only thing to do,

Is the most difficult it seems,

But Lord, because You are true,

You send help when we call upon You.

So please help us,

Have mercy abundantly,

We, no, I - am weak and helpless,

Lord, only You can input desire,

Into my comatose spirit,
