to encircle the houses
and gaze at the clouds
I walked past
a running man
who chose to sit
on that bench
As thoughts ran through my head
I thought I heard something said
I asked "Lord, was it You?"
I walked on towards home
But stopped mid-way
just in case
it was God
who said
"Go, and pray for him"
I stood afar wondering
watching him still sitting
I said to God "If it was You"
"Could You please, tell me again."
I asked for a sign
if the woman passed my lane
I would go
But before I finished my sentence
she had gone
the other lane
Just once more
as a couple was passing
I asked God again
"If they say 'go', I will go"
As we crossed paths
they did not say it
so I headed
towards home
Crossing them again
towards my home
suddenly I heard
the wife say "go"
So I went
And though the man
seemed confused
and did not have
a request in mind
I left the bench
feeling relieved
from the restlessness
I had when I first past him.
