50+ Idioms.

I scarce but hit the roof
and almost blew a fuse
To keep from flying off the handle
I had anger refused

Now what is this intensity
to be like red rag to a bull
to put someone in parity
with a bear with a sore head

It seems that this passing event
does tend to get on some men's nerves
Without a way to circumvent
it doth put men on pins and needles

To know it is to know how to
drive someone up the wall
to rub someone up the wrong way
without using much words at all

Any linger on this matter
will be a thorn in your own flesh
Time to take action otherwise
Even with cold feet, there is no choice

Inevitable is this fate
No surprise if you had had
butterflies in your stomach;
Inescapable due date

Still, a bundle of nerves
will do no good
Rid your stage fright
on this stage of life

Time to start from scratch
and break new ground
Not a matter of winning a match
Everyone has their own mountain to climb

We may not all have had a chance
to get off to a flying start
But keep on learning, growing on
Even if you find yourself back at square one

And even in the midst
of being rushed off your feet
of being up to your ears
as busy as a bee
to fight this good fight,
Watch your step
lest all your effort
go down the drain
as though this was all
just child's play

Your desires will
be at loggerheads
with each other
as you want for Life
and you want a life

And some of us
will have our work
cut out for us;
No doubt this will not
be a piece of cake

Still we do our best
to not become
someone handled with kid gloves
Why forfeit so much
for the sake of that green love

Walk on eggshells
if you need
Keep some at arm's length
if you must
For some of them
may cross swords with you
over petty things
which should be plain sailing to resolve
a random bone to pick with you

So again, my friend
There scarce time to
play it safe
Though you may
benefit from tact
than call a spade a spade
But otherwise, live your best
to avoid regrets

Refuse to make heavy weather
of little favours asked by others
Yet go the second mile

We're all in the same boat
having been thrown in at the deep end
So let's not stay at each other's throats
It is, still, over everyone's head
since it is no falling off a log

Have hope
We fight no losing battle
So if you find yourself
on the wrong track
Stop and take the small road back

Finally, when the anguish is gone;
the enraging event quenched
May we be called and recognized
as the apple of His eye
And I know mercy and grace fill us now
For He has a soft spot for each of us

With His peace,
we will not be scared out of our wits
Though the flames beneath
make blood run cold
and even hair to stand on end
We will return the favour
to scare the daylights out of that deceiver
by the blood of our Redeemer

In the face of death and evil.
