You ignored the left,
And avoided bereft,
But choosing right,
Faced a solitary night.
To a meal you said you would attend,
But abandoned for a promise you said you'd tend.
Why put yourself in a dilemma when you knew,
The commitment required, before the night was due?
Why make yourself a name for shame,
When you knew the rules to play the game?
I'm sorry friends, I said too much,
I shouldn't have agreed to meet,
Just to let you down, not being around,
To not disappoint another party;
These, tonight, have left me guilty.
