We want it now,
We need things in an instance,
Where is delayed gratification?
Have we lost patience,
An important virtue,
How can we listen,
How can we pursue,
How can we love,
How can we be strong,
Without knowing how to go on,
Not yet having our way,
But just waiting knowing it will come someday,
Even in silence, even alone,
Or even when chaos surrounds our souls.
Wait here now,
In this silence,
It seems torturous,
But it is rewarding,
To those who are able,
To wait;
Be it time to speak,
Or things to obtain,
Or on the road,
Or healing from pain,
Especially waiting on Him,
As we seek His Name.
