Suddenly I know how you feel,
When in suffering,
I know how strong yet fragile is your will,
When in suffering,
I understand what you can no longer do,
When in suffering,
I feel how much you have to endure.
When in suffering,
Priorities shift,
When in suffering,
I needed to strengthen my beliefs,
When in suffering,
I learn to patiently wait,
Consistently try to find a remedy,
Even as my heart silently grieves.
When in suffering,
There's no answer to whys,
When in suffering,
I learn that I don't need the answers,
When in suffering,
I look to You my God,
When in suffering,
What keeps me going is Your presence.
And these just from a glimpse of suffering,
What is it compared to what they are going through,
What is it compared to what You have gone through,
When in suffering,
All aspects of life come into view.
